got a 1980 chevrolet K30 (3500) single rear wheel, regular cab long box, no blown engine good th400 trans full dana 60's, np205 trans. May convert it to a short box down the road.
Got a parts truck too, a 1980 chevy c20 (2500) good box on it, no motor will swap front noses (k30 has an 86 nose- hate them) swap the box, drop in a gm nv4500 with a dodge input shaft and bellhousing...and a 12 valve p-pumped cummins. should be 5" stacks out the back. No bed splicing. true duals - turbo back. Gonna put some upgraded shit into the engine. p7100 pump, mild cam, 100lb injectors
Thinking of going gloss black and dark blue for the colours with a bit of chrome added in, door handles, lug nuts..
Quite the project. Picked up both trucks for under $2000.

Yo dude, just to say, short and below critical length fibers don't carry much stress, and if they are orientated poorly in relation to the loads, the resin takes the load and you may as well not even have a fiber. Longer ud fibres, built up in different orientations are best for load carrying. The random fibres i can see would have good shear properties, and i cant see whats underneath so it could be OK. Spun tubes as you call them (filament wound is what i assume you mean?) where used in carbon frame construction until recently, but a shape like he has achieved would be a pig to wind. It also doesnt have what looks like a moulded finish, suggesting he's used prepreg. This means a low fibre Vf, and a much weaker composite. Good frames are made under pressure to give maximum carbon content. Like i said, dont know how he made it, but from the one photo that seems to be on the internet it doesn't look to be all that great.

If you have the old one, take it into a tractor dealership or heavy duty shop. They'll likely have a multitude of odd ball o-rings. If not, they can fit you with one that's close just by fitting them to the plug.
Pic of the plug?
